Born out of the LA Paisley revolution of the mid 80′s with the country spirit of The jostling for position with the attitude of The Clash, The Long Ryders, were in a vanguard of the Paisley Movement that brought a wave of psychedelic alt-country crashing onto these shores in the mid 80′s, bands such as The Dream Syndicate, the Bangles, REM and the Georgia Satellites all benefited.
Sid Griffin these days lives here and leads Bluegrass revivalists The Coal Porters, but Sid does still love to strap on his 12 string Rickenbacker and get back where he once belong.
So good to hear his announcement of a tour following the release of Final Wild Songs (the definitive Long Ryders box-set) – Sid Griffin, Greg Sowders, Tom Stevens and Stephen McCarthy will be hitting the road in April and May – No Scottish dates the only disappointment.
