New Single ‘Rosie’ and Tour
Josh Rennie-Hynes
Australia’s fine singer-songwriter Josh Rennie-Hynes is back with some new material – a single ‘Rosie’, the first taste from his forthcoming and second LP Furthermore. The new album will be a follow-up to his melodious and impressive debut February. read my review
The song ‘Rosie’ came to Rennie-Hynes after he had completed a national tour of New Zealand.
“I had a few days off in Wellington, where I was staying at my Cousin’s house, spending a few days with his housemate Rosie, a lovely girl who had been going through a tough time with depression. I wrote this song for her, just to say that it’s all gonna be alright, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel” he explains.
This is the first track released since February, which was recorded with ARIA Award winner Shane Nicholson. Rennie-Hynes is keen to hit the road again in June with his band ‘The Wildflowers’ in support of the single. Rennie-Hynes has supported the likes of Kasey Chambers and JD McPherson (US) and has graced festival stages at the Americana Music Festival (Nashville), Woodford Folk Festival, Nannup Music Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival. I’ve seen him perform at least a couple of times and his is a stirring stage presence.
